Step 1: Power on the gateway
Step 2: Open Mihome Apps and register under Malaysia.
Step 3: Go Xiaomi profile at bottom right and change the region to Chinese Mainland. This will prompt you to logout. Click the login button beside WeChat logo at bottom to login again.
Step 3: After login, go add device and complete the pairing process.
